Jesus Subordinate

8 To do your will, O my God, is my delight,*+ And your law is deep within me.+

Jesus references this in John 4:34.

42 Look! My servant,+ whom I support! My chosen one,+ whom I have* approved!+ I have put my spirit in him;+ He will bring justice to the nations.+

Matthew 12:18 refers to this scripture and confirms it is speaking of Jesus.

The Sovereign Lord Jehovah has given me the tongue of those taught,*+ So that I may know how to answer* the tired one with the right word.*+ He awakens me morning by morning; He awakens my ear to listen like the taught ones.+

Matthew 13:54 refers to this in Jesus knowing without being taught.

13 Look! My servant+ will act with insight. He will be raised up high,He will be elevated and greatly exalted.+

10 But it was Jehovah’s will* to crush him, and he let him become sick.If you will present his life* as a guilt offering,+He will see his offspring,* he will prolong his days,+And through him the delight* of Jehovah will have success.+

9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion. Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem. Look! Your king is coming to you.+ He is righteous, bringing salvation,* Humble+ and riding on a donkey, On a colt,* the foal of a female donkey.+

36 “Concerning that day and hour nobody knows,+ neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.+

39 And going a little way forward, he fell facedown, praying:+ “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup+ pass away from me. Yet, not as I will, but as you will.”+

18 Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: “All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth.+

32 “Concerning that day or the hour nobody knows, neither the angels in heaven nor the Son, but the Father.+

36 And he said: “Abba, Father,+ all things are possible for you; remove this cup from me. Yet, not what I want, but what you want.”+

42 saying: “Father, if you want to, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, let, not my will, but yours take place.”+

46 And Jesus called out with a loud voice and said: “Father, into your hands I entrust my spirit.”+ After he said this, he expired.+

34 Jesus said to them: “My food is to do the will of him who sent me+ and to finish his work.+

26 For just as the Father has life in himself,+ so he has granted also to the Son to have life in himself.+ 27 And he has given him authority to do judging,+ because he is the Son of man.+

30 I cannot do a single thing of my own initiative. Just as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is righteous+ because I seek, not my own will, but the will of him who sent me.+

38 for I have come down from heaven+ to do, not my own will, but the will of him who sent me.+

16 Jesus, in turn, answered them and said: “What I teach is not mine, but belongs to him who sent me.+ 17 If anyone desires to do His will, he will know whether the teaching is from God+ or I speak of my own originality.

28 Then as he was teaching in the temple, Jesus called out: “You know me and you know where I am from. And I have not come of my own initiative,+ but the One who sent me is real, and you do not know him.+ 29 I know him,+ because I am a representative from him, and that One sent me.”

28 Jesus then said: “After you have lifted up the Son of man,+ then you will know that I am he+ and that I do nothing of my own initiative;+ but just as the Father taught me, I speak these things. 29 And the One who sent me is with me; he did not abandon me to myself, because I always do the things pleasing to him.”+

42 Jesus said to them: “If God were your Father, you would love me,+ for I came from God and I am here. I have not come of my own initiative, but that One sent me.+

54 Jesus answered: “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me,+ the one who you say is your God.

18 No man takes it away from me, but I surrender it of my own initiative. I have authority to surrender it, and I have authority to receive it again.+ This commandment I received from my Father.”

25 Jesus answered them: “I told you, and yet you do not believe. The works that I am doing in my Father’s name, these bear witness about me.+

29 What my Father has given me is something greater than all other things, and no one can snatch them out of the hand of the Father.+

32 Jesus replied to them: “I displayed to you many fine works from the Father. For which of those works are you stoning me?”

44 However, Jesus called out and said: “Whoever puts faith in me puts faith not only in me but also in him who sent me;+

49 For I have not spoken of my own initiative, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment about what to say and what to speak.+ 50 And I know that his commandment means* everlasting life.+ So whatever I speak, I speak just as the Father has told me.”+

10 Do you not believe that I am in union with the Father and the Father is in union with me?+ The things I say to you I do not speak of my own originality,+ but the Father who remains in union with me is doing his works.

28 You heard that I said to you, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I am.+

31 But for the world to know that I love the Father, I am doing just as the Father has commanded me to do.+ Get up, let us go from here.

17 Jesus said to her: “Stop clinging to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers+ and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father+ and your Father and to my God+ and your God.’”

22 “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus the Naz·a·reneʹ was a man publicly shown to you by God through powerful works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst,+ just as you yourselves know.

3 But I want you to know that the head of every man is the Christ;+ in turn, the head of a woman is the man;+ in turn, the head of the Christ is God.+

28 But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him,+ that God may be all things to everyone.+

6 who, although he was existing in God’s form,+ did not even consider the idea of trying to be equal to God.+ 7 No, but he emptied himself and took a slave’s form+ and became human.*+ 8 More than that, when he came as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death,+ yes, death on a torture stake.+

8 Although he was a son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered.+

7 Then I said: ‘Look! I have come (in the scroll* it is written about me) to do your will, O God.’”+

Quoting Psalm 40:7-8.

1 A revelation* by Jesus Christ, which God gave him,+ to show his slaves+ the things that must shortly take place. And he sent his angel and presented it in signs through him to his slave John,+

21 To the one who conquers+ I will grant to sit down with me on my throne,+ just as I conquered and sat down+ with my Father on his throne.
